IMHO, it all depends on how the members of the forum wants to colour it. A forum is suppose to create harmony through friendship, with a little bit of humor here and there to decorate it. I was a member of one of a local forum (non-archery related) for more than 5 years. Somehow, due to certain members who were more concern about glamour and prestige, they created a friction among them. To make it worse, some newbies just "jumped" in and joined the ruckus, bloating up the situation. They didn't even bothered to find out what was the reason. They thought it was just "having fun" by teasing others. Within 24 hours, half of the members walked out of the forum, and most of them are the oldies (otais). FYI, at that time the forum has already got more than 500 registered members. Two thirds of them were active.....sigh!

Nothing in today's world is as big a problem as that of population. People begin to worry about the support capacity of the earth. And there might be only standing room for each person in the future.
